4/12/2016 - Venango firestation theft

The Perkins County Sheriff’s Office needs your help in solving a theft.


On March 2nd several items were noticed missing from the Venango Fire Department.  A yellow fire helmet, a battery booster pack, 2 radios, and 2 automatic air ejects were found missing.  The total value of the missing items is over $3000.

3/16/2016 - D&B Full Service Burglary

The Ogallala Police Department needs your help in solving a burglary. 

In the overnight hours of February 5th 2016 someone broke into D&B full service at 607 West 1st street, by forcing in the front door.  Once inside the suspects stole car programmers, an antique socket set, a set of new tires, and other items totaling nearly $3000.  A unique hat was left at the scene by the burglar’s.  If this hat looks familiar and you know who the owner is you are encouraged to contact CrimeStoppers or the Ogallala Police Department.

2/12/2016 - Construction tools and siding theft Paxton

The Keith County Sherriff’s Office needs your help in solving a theft.


Sometime between the evening of Friday January 22 to Sunday January 24th, unknown persons stole multiple construction tools from the 500 mile or road East T about 3 miles south of Paxton. A Honda generator and over $6000 of Chief, Ash Grey 26 gauge siding in 18-23’ lengths were also stolen.  Most of power tools were cordless, and were DeWalt brand.  Some items may have the word “Ironman” written in permanent marker on them.  The total loss is estimated at nearly $12,000.

1/6/2016 - Town and Country Burglary

In the late night hours of Monday December 7th or early on December 8th unknown persons burglarized Town and Country Service Center at 410 West 1st Street by breaking a store window.  The suspect broke into a safe and stole several hundred dollars in cash, however damage to the business totaled nearly $3000.


  Crimestoppers also payed out $100 last month on a tip that located a subject with a Felony Warrant.

12/11/2015 - Burglary Ring Busted
               In the month of November, Law Enforcement served several warrants and made arrests involving a multi-county burglary ring.  The thieves broke into countless, sheds, barns, shops, and unoccupied houses in Keith and surrounding counties.  Items stolen were usually tools, but the suspects also tended to focus on antiques.  Nebraska State Patrol is leading the investigation and is requesting that citizens check any buildings that might contain similar items, and report any missing items or previously unreported burglaries.   Reporting every theft, regardless of the monetary value, is important and may hold valuable clues that tie other burglaries together.  The investigation has also recovered numerous items that are believed to be stolen but have not yet been reported. To report similar burglaries please call the Nebraska State Patrol North Platte Office at 308-535-8047.

9/1/2015 - Multiple Gun Thefts

In the month of August Deputies took 2 reports of stolen firearms.  On August 7th a blued .380 Sig Sauer P-238 pistol was stolen from a vehicle in Brule.  Then, on August 13th the reporting party found their storage unit in Roscoe had been broken into.  A Stevens 12 gauge shotgun, and Winchester .22 pump rifle, along with a Stihl chainsaw were stolen.

8/5/2015 - Green Acres Vehicle Theft

On Monday July 6th between the hours of 5:00 AM and 7:30 AM unknown persons stole a blue, 2000 Dodge Ram, Quad Cab pickup from the Green Acres trailer court on road East 85.  The pickup had Nebraska license plates 68-2161 and has been entered into the national data base.  The pickup was valued at approximately $9,000 making this crime a felony.

7/1/2015 - Poppe`s Truck and Diesel dirt bike theft

On Sunday June 28th at about 2:15 AM.  An unknown person cut the back fence to the lot of Poppe’s truck and diesel at 902 West 1 street and stole 2 dirt bikes.  The suspect was a tall, stocky, white, male wearing a white cloth on his face, long shorts with a stripe, and dark colored tennis shoes. The vehicle used in the theft was an unknown make of pickup pulling a small 2 wheeled trailer. The pickup has a taillight in the upper middle part of the tailgate.  The dirt bikes are a red 2001 Honda XR 100 and a green 03 or 04 Kawasaki KX65.  The dirt bikes had stickers on them that said “stolley” and “tank”, and together were valued at over $4000.

6/10/2015 - Perkins County Telescopic lift theft

The Perkins County Sheriff’s Office needs your help in solving a recent theft.


Sometime between Thursday night, April 28th and early Saturday morning, April 30th unknown persons stole a yellow 1999 diesel powered telescopic forklift from the east lot of Wally`s Sales & Service, Inc. located on Highway 61 on the north edge of Grant.  The vehicle, also known as a telehandler, was a Caterpillar model TH83.  At the time of the theft the telehandler had red and yellow graphics on the sides that read "Woody`s Pivot Service."  The vehicle weighs approximately 23,000 pounds and the suspects would have used a large trailer to tow vehicle away.  The vehicle’s serial number has been entered into the national database.  The estimated value of the telehandler is $20,000.00.

5/11/2015 - Schmidt Motors Tire Theft

The Ogallala Police Department needs your help in solving a recent theft.


In the overnight hours of Monday April 27th.  Unknown persons removed the tires and wheels off of a Red 2005 Dodge Ram pickup parked in the 10 block of West E Street, South of the Schmidt Motors Detail Shop.  The Tires are NEXEN brand 305/40R22.  The wheels, are Mopar SRT 22” aluminum rims with a 10 spoke, starfish pattern.  The total loss of the tires and wheels is estimated at over $3800.

The attached pictures are of the actual wheels and tires.
