The Ogallala Police Department needs your help in solving several acts of Criminal Mischief in the Ogallala Area.   During the months of May and June Officers received more than 18 reports of Vandalism to cars, garages, street signs and playground equipment.  Suspects used a marker and spray paint.

7/8/2009 - Burglary to Fireworks stand

The Ogallala Police Department needs your help in solving a recent Burglary to a Fireworks stand.       

Sometime during the evening of July 3rd unknown persons gained entry into a semi trailer belonging to Marv’s fireworks which was located in the Wendy’s parking lot.  Once inside the suspects stole over $1,000 work of fireworks.  anonymous.

6/3/2009 - Stolen transmissions

Sometime during the past 6 months unknown persons entered onto private property located south of Ogallala and stole approximately 30-40 used car transmissions from a parked trailer.  Transmissions were for various vehicle makes.  The value to replace these transmissions is well over $1,500.00 makes this Theft a felony.

5/6/2009 - Burglary Cornhuskers Lanes

During the morning hours of Monday, May 4th 2009, an unknown person gained entry by force to the Cornhusker Lanes Bowling Alley located at 901 East 1st.  Once inside the business the suspect damaged the safe and stole cash from the business.

4/18/2009 - Cell Phone SCAM

Cell Phone SCAM

          On Saturday, 041809, Keith County Residents were flooded with scam cell phone calls from a Dakota bank.  Calls stated that their ATM accounts were frozen and asked for the account numbers, experation dates and pin numbers.  If you gave out any information you should contact your bank as soon as possible and let them know that you may be victim of a SCAM.

4/2/2009 - More vehicle windows shot out

During the first 3 months of 2009 Officers took reports of at least 15 vehicles with damaged windows around Ogallala.  Vehicles all had windows shot out with what appeared to be a bb gun.  Damages totaled well over $2,500 in damages.

The Keith County Crime Stoppers would like to encourage citizens to continue to report information about any drug violations.  If you have any information about people using, selling or manufacturing any type of narcotics in our area please call in or leave a tip on line.  Last month we did receive 3 tips about drugs with one arrest made and a reward was issued.

2/4/2009 - Burglaries in Paxton

On the night of December 12th unknown suspects broke into R Hair Syndicut and the Hardin Agency both in Paxton.  The suspects stole money and several specialized hair clippers. Value of the stolen items was well over $500.  During this time there was also a similar burglary in Lincoln Count and these crimes may be related.

1/7/2009 - Several vehicle windows shot out
